It's hard to imagine how quickly your life can change. In a blink of an eye you go from calm to crisis.
I am fortunate to live in an area that has not been physically impacted by Hurricane Harvey or any other natural disaster that has caused so much devastation. My prayers are with those impacted.
Like many Americans, I have donated money to help those that need help. I know that nonprofits can do more good with my money than what I can. They know where the need is greatest.
If you work for a nonprofit, you started preparing for a disaster like this months ago. If you work for an agency, you helped those nonprofits prepare and are now busy deploying or mailing emergency appeals for donations.
You never know when an emergency will strike and natural disasters are not the only emergencies that happens. Our political environment has created many emergencies in the past year and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
Be prepared. If you need help, reach out to experts that can help you.
